The body of MJ is inside the STAPLES Center now, and everyone is filing inside to take their seats. The service was scheduled to begin at 10am (PST), but it's running a little late (as expected).
My full recap of the service will be posted later tonight, unless something incredible happens and you need to know immediately. For an event that has been put together with very little notice, it's gone incredibly smooth. I'm hoping people realize this is a memorial service and not a chance to make trouble.

The email finally came late last night, but not with the news I was hoping for. I, along with 1.5 million others, received this email:
It's no big deal. It would have been nice to attend, but I shouldn't miss work when I can watch the entire thing from my computer. Plus, I'm sure my office chair will be a LOT more comfortable then the seats at the Staples Center or Nokia LIVE (depending on where people end up).
On that note, though, did anyone actually get a ticket? I've seen photos of the tickets with the wristband, but no first-hand account of what it will be like. I'm sure that will change after tomorrow afternoon. The media will be swamping those coming out of the memorial service to get their thoughts/reactions/comments on the recognition of the King of Pop.
From the list of presenters/performers that is slowly leaking out, it looks like it's going to be a star-studded event. Leave it to MJ to bring together artists of this caliber. It'll be an interesting event to say the least...
Thank you for your registration.
Sorry, we regret to inform you that your registration to attend the Public Memorial Service for Michael Jackson was not selected.
Hundreds of thousands registered, but only a few can be in attendance.

Now, we wait...
Emails for those who receive tickets to the Jackson memorial on Tuesday are scheduled to go out today to those lucky fans.
8,000+ people are going to be very happy by the end of the day. Fingers crossed that I'm one of them...

I was able to register for tickets before the server crashed from the hundreds of thousands who are attempting the same thing - a chance to come together for a Public Memorial service.
The system will select 17,000 random entries and emails will be sent out on Sunday after 11am (PST) for those who will receive a pair of tickets.
If you want your chance to attend, visit StaplesCenter.com through 6pm (PST) tomorrow (July 4th) and register. Then, sit back and wait for the email.
If anyone makes it inside (myself included), I want a full report. Even if I don't make it through the front doors of the Staples Center, I'll still be watching it all on TV. It'll be a sad, sad day indeed...
